Fluctuating process demands can cause the pump to cycle on and off frequently, leading to issues such as motor overheating, broken fans, degraded lubricants, and vanes separating from their base. Historically, a common approach to mitigate these challenges has been to operate within a broad pressure range to reduce cycling frequency. However, this method is not economically efficient. An improved strategy involves employing a Variable Frequency Drive (VFD). With a VFD, the screw compressor pump adjusts its performance to match the actual requirements.
