After the first-stage compression, the coolant passes through multiple injection holes on the compressor body, forming a mist-like spray curtain that cools the hot compressed air. This significantly reduces the temperature of the compressed air before it enters the second compression stage, approximating an isothermal compression process and reducing the work required for compression. In principle, for compressing the same volume of air, two-stage compression can save about 10% energy compared to single-stage compression.

In a air compressor 2 stage, the compression ratio in each stage is much lower than that of a single-stage compressor, which greatly reduces the backflow leakage between rotors. This leads to significant improvements in volumetric efficiency and adiabatic efficiency, thereby increasing the air production capacity of the compressor.
